Sun. 2/24 Big Brother Recap: A Snoozer

We know that Big Brother was up against the Oscars, but they really phoned this one in.

Amanda's voice is normally hard enough on my ears on the live feeds but on tonight's show? It was downright torturous. If I was one of those folks in the diary room that had to ask her questions and then listen to her answers, I just don't know what I would do. Holly from Season 5 set a standard of annoying voice inflection that I thought could never be beat. I believe Amanda at least ties her if not edges her out by a nose.

I loved the "bueno" segment in tonight's show! It's so annoying to listen to on the feeds. I can only imagine how annoying it would be to actually live in that house and hear that all of the time. I guess it was cute the first couple of times but let's be real. It's not cute anymore. But hey, she provides some fantastic drama in the house and for that I can't really fault her.

I thought the rest of tonight's show was absolutely boring. Let's quickly go over what we saw. There was the reaction from the hamsters about James/Chelsia winning HOH (Alex and Amanda not happy about it). They came in from the HOH competition to find the drinking cups already gone and decided to drink from bowls. Josh told Sharon about the lesbian secret and then we saw James/Chelsia's HOH room and their pictures from home. Matt/Natalie were told they wouldn't go up on the block and then Operation Condor was explained for the television viewing audience (James, Adam, and Ryan want to get rid of the people on the upper row of the memory wall).

Amanda and Joshuah kinda sorta made up after their huge fight (Amanda promises to take him to the final 3). Natalie tells Amanda about her crush on Matt and Matt later tells Natalie he won't be having sex with her (funny how BB didn't hint at the sex of the oral variety they've already had). Allison/Sheila decide to come clean with Joshuah and Chelsia about their lesbian lover lie (they were none too pleased to find out).

We watched the first food competition of the season (it was mega boring). They were split into yellow and green teams and "divers" from each team had to throw fish into the other team's nets. The last member left holding the net won food for their team. Josh/Sharon, Ryan/Allison, and Matt/Natalie won leaving Alex/Amanda and Adam/Sheila on slop for the week. James/Chelsia were on the losing team but because they're HOH they don't have to eat slop.

There was the first "slop sucks" segment followed by Amanda's "bueno" segment. Next was a cute James/Chelsia flirting and kissing segment. James told Matt that him and Natalie would be put up as pawns and not to worry about things.

At the nomination ceremony, Adam/Sheila were the first couple saved followed by Josh/Sharon and then Ryan/Allison. It's Alex/Amanda and Matt/Natalie on the block with the intention of Alex/Amanda going home. James told Matt/Natalie that he knows they can win the POV to save themselves. Chelsia told Alex/Amanda that they were put up on the block because Amanda hasn't been truthful in the house. We closed out with Alex being frustrated about being put up because of Amanda's actions and Matt vowing to never trust anybody with pink hair again.

If this was boring to read I apologize but it was an awfully boring show. There used to be a good reason to watch the shows that weren't live. We would find out interesting tidbits and insights in the diary room and the fluff segments would be entertaining. I certainly hope that comes back to us this season. But so far, the feeds have been one hundred thousand times more exciting than the shows.

Next week, I wonder how they're going to cover the Sheila/Allison fight and then Allison and Amanda having to go to the hospital. Even better, how much will they show of the Matt/Natalie fight after the margarita party? Perhaps they'll "show" some of the Matt/Natalie intimate footage from the week before.

What are your thoughts on tonight's episode? Did you find it as boring as I did? How do you think they'll cover this weekend's events on Tuesday's or Wednesday's show?
