At first blush, Zooey Deschanel and Emma Watson may seem like they belong to the same celebrity fashion sorority. The funky, independent film actress and the girl most known for being the smartest student at Hogwarts both have excellent taste in fashion. RED CARPET
This is a tough competition. Emma Watson bloomed before our very eyes in the last eight years from being a young girl to a beautiful young woman. Her fashion sense was always appropriate, but now she has begun to experiment with her look. Choosing classic shapes and rich fabrics, she is consistently elegant, and word on the street is that Chanel's Karl Lagerfeld has a bit of a girl-crush on her. Tres chic. Zooey, on the other hand, chooses lots of prints and 1950s inspired glamour, which comes across as a much hipper, cooler Katy Perry. Despite Emma's recent wardrobe malfunction on the windy red carpet for her latest Harry Potter flick, she takes this category.

CASUAL
Maybe it's the London weather, but Emma always seems to be wearing a trench coat. While it's a classic, elegant look, I think it ages her beyond her 19 years. Zooey, on the other hand, always looks chic and comfortable. Whether it's jeans and boots or a highly detailed dress over simple leggings and flats, she always looks polished and understated sexy.

HAIR
This is like comparing apples to oranges. While Emma now works her caramel waves as often as possible, Zooey favors her loose brunette wave with a bulky, indie bang. Both looks are beautiful and capture each actresses' personality and quirks. There's no way to lose, and you know you'd want the number for either of their hairstylists.

MAKE-UP
Emma works her youth to her advantage, and plays up her pale skin tone with subtle hints of pink and shimmer. Zooey also says no to fake tan, and favors a heavily-lined eye and played-up lashes. Both ladies work their natural beauty and either seal their look with a nude gloss or a red lip kiss. Can you go wrong? We say no.

The official answer? A tie. Maybe the performances of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince or 500 Days of Summer will catapult one ahead of the other.
