Week 2 of Strictly Come Dancing saw the remaining eight celebrities and their dance partners take to the floor on both Friday and Saturday nights to perform Ballroom and Latin dances. The excitement and hype of this week's show was, once again, overshadowed by the ferocious row that has surrounded poor Alesha - well, we can safely say we thought she was on fighting form and think she is warming up to be a great judge!

Opening up the weekend’s dance-fuelled extravaganza was ex-Eastender Natalie Cassidy who was partnered up with the ultimate Italian Stallion, Vincent Simone. Friday’s Tango was full of drama and was received fairly warmly by the judges, but it was Saturday’s Latin that really made an impact. Natalie boldly strutted her stuff around the floor and proudly shook her 'thang', receiving one of the biggest and most rapturous applauses of the weekend. The blonde bombshells in the form of Jo Wood and ex-Footballers Wives actress Zoe Lucker definitely made their mark this weekend, however for slightly different reasons. Zoe who is partnered up with the gorgeous James Jordan received buckets of praise for their Waltz on Friday night, with Bruno calling the dance ‘absolutely beautiful’, and even resident meanie Craig proclaiming that it looked: ‘as if you had danced all your life’. But it was Saturday’s sexy Rumba that really got the judges animated, with outrageous Bruno claiming: ‘I felt it, I felt it growing, big and powerful’! Talk about too much information, Bruno!

Jo, however, received low marks and slightly harsh criticism from the panel of judges after performing her two dances, which understandably wound up her very protective partner Brendon Cole. After Craig rudely remarked that: ‘the best part of it was when you were standing still’, Brendon got increasingly angry and sternly told the impolite judge to ‘watch yourself’. Oh dear…!

Ricky Whittle and new dancer Natalie Lowe stole the show, however, with two exceptional dances and were unanimously told that they were the couple to beat. One couple that didn’t impress the judges or the public was Richard Dunwoody and his dance partner Lilia Kopylova who found themselves in the bottom two and then, sadly, told to leave the competition.

So, two couples are now out, but there are still fourteen celebrities left. Tomorrow night (Saturday 3rd October) sees them do it all again, live on BBC1, for a mighty two-hour show, which will no doubt be another spectacular feast of sequins, swirls and much amusement!
