Something Cool Finally Happened on Heroes, But Is it Too Late?

I don't want to spoil the cool thing for you if you missed last night's episode. But what the hell? I'll do it anyway!

Chapter Seven: "Out of Time"

Major spoiler! Well, hell, I've been spoiling stuff with my recaps since the beginning of Season Two. Though, here, finally, is something that actually feels a little naughty to reveal if you missed last night's episode:

Takezo Kensei is Adam Munroe.

You know: Adam Munroe, the boogeyman whose name we've been hearing all season but whose face we hadn't yet seen? That guy. Which makes sense, I guess, because I was about to get seriously angry that all the medieval Japan stuff was gonna have nothing to do with anything. Also, why hire a cute blond English guy and not keep him around as long as possible? (Actually, actor David Anders is American.)

So, what happened is Hiro pissed off Kensei again, and Kensei vows revenge. Then, after that, as if to make sure that Kensei is dedicated to the task, Hiro blew him up. Kensei can't die, right? So (presumably) he heals and takes the long way around to 2007, where the episode ends with Kensei, er, Adam reminding the still-amnesiac Peter Petrelli that he's, you know, Adam Monroe and that together they're going to change the world.

Later, Mohinder's Creepy Boss Guy reveals that Adam is behind everything, that Linderman was his protogé, that he's the one who is masterminding the killing of The Eight in the photo, etc. Maybe we can blame the tedium of the season so far on his extensive evil, too.

I'd like to point out that I so totally called the Kensei/Adam thing at the beginning of the episode, but then again, my superpower is Noticing the Very, Very Obvious.

Some other stuff happened last night, though nothing so deliciously, soapishly, goofily fun. Superboy made waffles for Claire and then discovered that her dad is the guy who alien-abducted him. A local paper ran a story about the Bitchy Cheerleader's claims about a flying boy and a dead girl who healed herself. Matt's dad, under Adam's orders, attacked the Company facility where Mohinder is working and Molly is unconscious, but Matt figures out how to imprison Daddy in his own small, horrible mind.

Molly woke up -- hoorah! Peter and Irish Girl wandered around deserted 2008 New York City, got decontamination showers, and learned absolutely nothing new about this future plague that we hadn't already learned in last week's coming attractions. Then he jumped back to the Montreal where he met Adam. Hiro jumped back to 2007, bringing Ando a souvenir -- Kensei's crispy armor.

Oh, and Mohinder and Nikki discovered, the hard way, that the plague the Company has in cold storage has mutated, and that Mohinder's blood no longer holds a cure. Doh! But Creepy Boss Guy has seen the news story about the self-healing cheerleader and thinks she could hold the solution.

Coming next week: NBC promises that all our questions will be answered. Why do I not trust NBC on this?
