He was the kid in Almost Famous and has since made a career of playing off-kilter characters in indie films.
Pros:
He's shown quite a bit of range for such a young guy and has also been very choosy, passing up a lot of the studio junk in order to appear in higher quality film.
Cons:
History is littered with actors who went the indie route and could never break away when they wanted to make a bigger impact. If he doesn't do something mainstream, and quick, he could end up the "Hey, wasn't he in Almost Famous?" guy.
