Just saw fairly generic footage for Race to Witch Mountain from Disney. Afterwards Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Carla Gugino, and director Andy Fickman handled the question and answer session. In person Dwayne is actually a pretty funny guy and he didn't disappoint here. He commented on the potency of weed in Texas (in response to an odd question) and mentioned his main reason for doing the film was for "the money."

Oh, don't worry Disney, he regrouped after that, waxing poetic about the craft and working with geniuses and all that other stuff that the studio suits like to hear. It was hard to get a bead on the movie itself except for they were "true to the original" (industry-speak for "don't crush us on the messge boards") and there looks to be quite a bit of editing still to be done. So nothing too exciting to report there. However...

After the panel was over we were promised something "special" if we waited. As I don't finish up until around 9pm tonight I was extremely eligible for this special footage. It turned out to be a few minutes of Tron 2 or Tr2n as they seem to be calling it. It was all CGI (obviously) and it stars the dude, Jeff Bridges.

It looked visually appealing though I wonder if they watched Speed Racer a few months ago in horror.

In the footage two CGI racers go head to head before Bridge's virtual bike destroys his opponent. Then we got our only line of dialogue:

Random Guy: It's just a game!
Bridges: Not anymore!

Then Bridges punches the guy, clearly vanquising him FOR GOOD.

Next up, RocknRolla and then Punisher: War Zone!
