Walk Hard: The Dewy Cox Story
Directed by: Jake Kasdan
Starring: John C. Reilly, Jenna Fischer, Justin Long, Paul Rudd, Tim Meadows and Jason Schwartzman

Writer-director Judd Apatow is en fuego these days in the comedy circuit and if this trailer is any indication, the trend will continue at least once more. Apatow co-wrote this Walk The Line-esque parody with director Jake Kasdan (son of the formerly great director Lawrence Kasdan) who has made at least two unspectacular movies that I like. More of the same is just fine by me but we might have something even better on hand here.

John C. Reilly has an opportunity to out-funny himself, to create a legend worthy of Ron Burgundy. Reilly may never top his hilarious turn in Boogie Nights, but the material here is ripe enough to give it a run for its money. But what I'm really excited about in this movie is the hair. If used right, hair is a gold mine for comedy and we have a whole assortment of fun dos on display in these clips.

The trailer also sells some pretty interesting casting decisions that might work (in a completely horrible way): Paul Rudd as John Lennon, Justin Long as George Harrison, Jason Schwartzman as Ringo Starr and Jack White as Elvis. Jenna Fischer doesn't play anybody famous as far as I know, but she doesn't need to. She just needs to be adorable. And she is (Jenna, if you're reading this, that's my email address at the bottom. Don't be shy).

I'm not entirely sure how this movie will do at the box office. John C. Reilly isn't exactly Tom Cruise at the box office (then again, Tom Cruise may not even be Tom Cruise anymore at the box office), but maybe there's just enough Shake 'n Bake magic to go around for at least modest success.

Iron Man
Directed by: Jon Favreau
Starring: Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Terrence Howard, Jeff Bridges, Samuel L. Jackson and Hilary Swank

At this year's Comic-Con it was clear the talk of the convention was the five-minute Iron Man reel screened. Much of that footage is available here in a winner of a trailer that is sure to jump start anticipation for next summer's definite blockbuster. Director Jon Favreau's unconventional casting of Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark seems to work both dramatically and comically.

Not that we couldn't see this coming, but you gotta love the use of Black Sabbath's "Iron Man". I'm sure it will come up in the film at some point as well. The "new" suit reveal is hella cool (those beaming white eyes are killer), but the real money shot comes at the end where Iron Man is flying through the air with a couple of fighter jets before really opening up those thrusters. The Spider-Man era is over. Let the Iron Man reign.
