The most anticipated dress of 2009 made its debut last night. Michelle Obama chose an ivory Jason Wu ball gown for the inaugural festivities. It's so exciting to see the first lady put relatively unknown designers on the map. The dress was silk chiffon and featured organza and Swarovski embellishments. The 26-year-old Wu, who is now destined to become a household name, told the Today Show, "I see [Michelle] as a powerful, energetic, incredible woman. I wanted the gown to have a dreamlike quality because it's pretty surreal."

Some critics have stated they would have preferred Michelle to wear a color and others have even said that the dress was too young. We, however, thought Michelle Obama looked stunning, perfect for such a historic night, and we loved seeing a first lady show some skin.
