In his continuing bid to take over the universe, multi-hyphenate Ryan Seacrest has teamed with none other than Paris Hilton to produce a new television show. Here's the catch: It's scripted. Here's hoping neither one of them will be going anywhere near the writers' room.
Seacrest is known for his ties to reality TV, from hosting the mother of all reality shows -- American Idol -- to producing several others, including Keeping Up With the Kardashians and Denise Richards: It's Complicated. Paris has starred in The Simple Life and her own, um, reality videos, and has a new reality competition show coming to MTV this fall.
So why would either of them venture into the world of scripted television? Who knows? As long as they stay away from writing books. Oh, wait. I think Paris already wrote a book, co-authored by her chihuahua, Tinkerbell. I'm not kidding about this.
The concept of the show is still being worked out, but Seacrest tells E! that "This show will be loud." Whatever that means. He also praises his new business parter, saying Paris doesn't take herself too seriously. Coincidentally, neither does anyone else.
