Paris Hilton is finding out in a very, very hard way that some of the rules do, in fact, apply to her, as she'll be returning to jail after a brief and not uneventful absence. The socialite has had a roller-coaster week so far, checking into jail late Sunday night and being released early Thursday morning due to "medical reasons," to serve the remainder of her sentence under house arrest at her Hollywood Hills mansion. Her early release -- instigated by Sheriff Lee Roca and violently opposed by just about everyone else -- created quite an uproar, especially when it became obvious that the "medical reasons" were Paris's extreme unhappiness in jail.

As such, the city attorney, who said he was not notified of Paris's early release, filed a petition late Thursday night to have Paris returned to jail, and recommending that the Sheriff's office be held in contempt of court for releasing Paris without consent from the judge. The judge granted a hearing for 9 a.m. Friday morning, and required Paris to appear for it in person. Some wires got crossed, and Paris apparently believed she could phone into the court rather than appear, so she was not present at 9 a.m. The judge sent a police car to her home to pick her up and take her, in handcuffs, back to court.

We've been treated to Paris's fantastic acting skills quite a bit these past few weeks, with Paris putting on her "I'm so sad" face for the cameras whenever she was coming to and from the courthouse, jail or her lawyer's office. But this time, she wasn't acting. Paris is sobbing and obviously horrified as she faces a return to jail.

And, finally, the world had the chance to live in a fantasy land while Paris Hilton was stuck knee-deep in reality, when Judge Michael Sauer ordered Hilton to go back to jail immediately from the courtroom. Hilton was physically escorted from the courtroom in tears, screaming, "Mom, Mom, Mom," and claiming that "it's not right." Damn straight, Paris. It's not right that people like you think you can buy your way out of all the rules the rest of society has to play by. It's not right at all.

Paris will likely file an appeal, but it probably won't be heard until Monday at the earliest. As of right now, we can all look forward to a fabulous weekend of an incarcerated Hilton.
