Recently on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Ellen asked Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria if and when she planned to start a family with boyfriend Tony Parker (of the San Antonio Spurs).
"It's just difficult," said Longoria, "because our work schedule is so crazy and ... Marcia Cross is pregnant, and so Marc Cherry [the show's creator] came on the set and he was like 'no more pregnancies this year. They're really hard to write in.'"
It's easy to get all hot and bothered about a statement like this, but, when you take a step back, is it totally unreasonable that well-compensated actresses on a hit television show be asked to maintain the body types they had when they were originally cast?
