New DVD Releases: Black Book, Knocked Up, Bug, and More

From World War II to adventures in baby-making to some great British TV, it's shiny discs for everyone this week.

You Know You Want It:

Black Book
Paul Verhoeven brings WWII suspense action to the art house with this can't-miss tale of a Jewish lass who goes undercover at Nazi headquarters. And all without the help of Indiana Jones, even.

Bug
Ashley Judd will make you itch all over, and that's a good thing, I swear.

You Know You Want It (Brit TV Division):

The Catherine Tate Show: The Complete First Season
The sketch comedy of Tracey Ullman's heir apparent is a riot.

Sherlock Holmes: The Complete Granada Television Series
Jeremy Brett is the best Sherlock Holmes ever, and I'll sic the hounds of Baskerville on anyone who says otherwise.

I Know You Want It, But I Don't:

Knocked Up
It makes both men and women look like idiots, but apparently people like that.

You Might Want It, But I Don't (Brit TV Division):

Count Dracula
Some fans swear by this 1977 Masterpiece Theater production starring Louis Jourdan as the bloodsucker, but I found it pretty dull.

You Didn't Know You Wanted It:

Evening
If all chick flicks were this damn good, the phrase wouldn't have become a pejorative.

The TV Set
David Duchovny stars in this wicked satire as a writer just trying to get his TV show on the air. Did I mention it stars David Duchovny? David Duchovny stars.

As You Like It
Kenneth Branagh does it again: makes Shakespeare seem as fresh as, well, some people seem to think Judd Apatow is.

You Don't Want It:

Next
If Nicolas Cage can see into the future, how come he didn't know that this atrocious adaptation of a Philip K. Dick story would turn out so awful?

Who on Earth Would Want It?

Patch Adams
Now in HD. For all those who have been clamoring to see the shameless mugging of Robin Williams and the disgusting exploitation of little kids with cancer in crystal-clear 1080p.
