How do you top Britney Spears' controversial comeback-that-wasn't at last year's MTV Video Music Awards? Bring her back for a repeat performance.
Anything's possible, according to an MTV exec who teasingly told the Associated Press: "Everyone deserves a second or third chance, right? Who knows?"
What about the audience? Don't we deserve a chance to watch the VMAs without having to cover our eyes?
Kidding. If anyone deserves a second chance on MTV, it's Britney, who -- despite last year's disaster -- has a winning record at the VMAs. She may have sleep-walked through her performance of "Gimme More," but this is the same girl who brought us many memorable MTV moments involving nude-colored bodysuits, live snakes and an overfriendly Madonna.
Just give her a chance, ya'll!
This year's MTV Video Music Awards will air live from Paramount Pictures Studios in Los Angeles on Sept. 7. Stay tuned!
