The Morning After: Jason Talks About Life After The Bachelorette
ABC
Just got off the conference call with Jason and a bunch of reporters. The Access Hollywood reporter practically crawled through the phone and wrote her number on his arm. Seriously, she was like, "call me." Other highlights: On being the new Bachelor: "I haven't been approached on it at all. I'm just back to my regular life. If they asked me, it's something I'd consider." On dating since he taped the show: "I've been smothering and being smothered by my little boy. If there's any date, it's just with my 3-year-old munchkin. I am in a place where I could start dating again, but to be honest, I don't even know how right now." On giving son Ty dating tips when he's older: "I have no idea how to date right now. I'll be asking him for tips. I think I can learn a lot from that little guy." On keeping a poker face at the office: "Every single person has assumed that I did very well, and secondly, I think everybody really thought that she picked me. I haven't been into the office yet this morning, but I think they'll be shocked." On having to keep the outcome of the show secret: That was horribly hard. Everybody around me knows how transparent I am. I did a good enough job of being happy, so it might have thrown people off, but it was really tough for me." On getting closure: "I think the final closure was to see them happy together. The connection they had was absolutely love and a look that she gave him that she never gave to me. I need to have that in my life. We all deserve that in life." On his ex-wife's reaction to the show: "I'm sure she had some struggles with it. I'll say the one thing I know about her that might be similar to DeAnna -- what they both seem to want in life is something a little different from what I am. Like a snowboarder, or in her case, something a little bit different. I think DeAnna and her might fall in that same category." On getting cast on The Bachelorette: "I had seen my friend Bevin on the show. I've known Bevin for 10 years. I was thinking, I could do that. I sent in an email and never heard anything for a year. Casting called me and left a message, I thought it was a joke. Literally the next day, Bevin was up here and I ran into her. I hadn't seen her for five years. So they called me up, and I ran into Bevin, and it was DeAnna -- so I was in." On staying friends with Jesse and DeAnna: "Absolutely. They are two wonderful people. [Of the guys], I got to know Jesse one of the best and he's a wonderful guy. They show us as very different people, but I think Jesse and I are very similar in how we look at the world and how we care about people. Jesse and I will be friends forever." On body armor: "The body armor is down, and I'm ready to date again." Most Popular Stories
