The Mole Is Off To a Great Start
After the first two exciting missions and an execution, The Mole is off to another exciting start.

The Mole is back and I'm so happy! This first episode did not disappoint me. Jon Kelley is not Anderson Cooper, but I think he'll be OK. We have a lot of personalities in the contestants and that means that this quest will be anything but boring. The contestants gathered and met each other in Los Angeles, Chile. They are: Before the first mission, the contestants were given secret ballots and asked to vote for who they thought was the mole, based on first impressions. Poor Marcie, the stay-at-home mom, was given this dubious honor. It did come with an advantage, though: she was in charge of making all decisions for the day. The first mission entailed climbing on a raft and navigating it over the Salto Del Laja Waterfall. A bag of money was extended by a stick over the waterfall, and right before the raft went over, each contestant had to jump up and grab the bag of money. Only six of those bags contained $10,000, the other fuve had paper Mole money. All money earned went into the pot. Marcie decided who was going for which bag, but the others didn't know until the end. Clay, Kristen, Bobby, Liz, Nicole and Mark were successful, and Victoria was very suspicious, to me, in her miss. How much money was added to the pot? Unfortunately, only Mark and Clay had real money in their bags. Out of a possible $60,000, the contestants have earned only $20,000. I admit that after learning who had paper in their bags, I was suspicious of Marcie's choices. Marcie's next decision was to decide sleeping arrangements. There was a nice cabin, but only eight people could sleep in it. The four chosen to sleep outside were Nicole, Liz, Craig, and Bobby. They were then given their journals to write down their suspicions and clues. Journal #11 was shown (a clue?). Nicole showed her behind and decided that it was too cold to sleep outside. She informed the others that since the only rule was that she must sleep outside, she would stay awake all night inside. The next morning they gathered on Buda Beach. Before the mission they were asked who the biggest whiner was. No surprise, they chose Nicole. Jon asked if he could call her whiner, and Nicole said, "Dr. Whiner." Ha! Jon told them that Robinson Crusoe was a big whiner and was tossed off his boat onto a beach. With her nomination, Nicole got to choose teams for the next mission. There were three teams: scavengers, appraisers, and timekeepers. There were things scattered on the beach and the scavengers job was to gather them. The appraiser's job was to pick five things out of those gathered that were chosen centuries ago. The timekeeper's job was to gather sand at the bottom of a platform in buckets, run up stairs and keep sand in the top of an hourglass. When the sand ran out, their time was up. They had three chances and for each correct item, $5,000 would be added to the pot. When all was said and done, they got three correct items for another $15,000 in the pot. When it was time to leave, Jon informed Dr. Whiner, that she would be left behind on the beach ... like Robinson Crusoe. That night was the first quiz and execution. Nicole earned the first exemption, since she was still on the beach. They were asked the quiz questions that were posted on the website. Since we are playing, too, we weren't told the correct answers. Marcie got the fewest questions correct, and was executed. Some of the clues I picked up were the #11 on the journal, the large thumb print on Victoria's helmet during the first mission, and when Jon made a comment about something being music to the mole's ears. Did you pick up any more? Who do you think is the mole? Comment below. Catch y'all next week for a new episode of The Mole. Most Popular Stories
