About Last Night: Fox Party at Santa Monica Pier
FX Networks
Look for a full party report from intrepid Film.com writer Melinda Viren, coming later today. In the meantime, here are some highlights from What We Did Last Night: 1. Played a round of "What's The Most Morally Ambiguous Thing You've Done Today?" with Tate Donovan. We made up this game after he said something about how "we're all morally ambiguous characters" on Damages (FX). Tate won, hands down. I'll spare you the details, but it was juicy. Like worthy-of-a-scene-from-The-OC juicy. Later, he told us he doesn't have a publicist. Um, obviously. If he did, this conversation would have been over 20 minutes ago. 2. Chatted up Jerry O'Connell from Do Not Disturb. Yes, that turkey. But Jerry O'Connell is awfully charming, not to mention unnaturally tan (he swears it's all natural). Since his show is set behind the scenes of a 5-star hotel, I asked for his most scandalous fancy-hotel story. He said, the time he accidentally racked up $1,000 in charges from the mini-bar. Really? Tate Donovan totally has you beat in that department. At the end of our conversation, Jerry said to me: "You are the most normal person here." Thanks...I think. 3. Asked The Simpsons creator Matt Groening where the hot dogs were. He was very helpful. And dang, he created The Simpsons! 4. Rode the roller coaster with Prison Break's Jodi Lyn O'Keefe, who danced to Michael Jackson's "PYT" in her seat. She also went on the roller coaster wearing heels and a white mini-dress. Impressive. 5. Played Whack-A-Mole, threw balls at things that wouldn't fall over, ate mini-donuts, promised Kathy Najimy we'd keep an eye on her kids on the roller coaster, and had too much sugar so couldn't sleep. Today: FX is up. Note to Fox: More sugar, please! Most Popular Stories
