Katie Couric, addressing a roomful of TV critics in Beverly Hills via satellite this morning, said she has "no plans to part company" with CBS News anytime soon.

"There were a lot of speculative pieces [in the media] that, quite frankly, spun out of control," Couric said. "I'm very committed to the people here and I'm very committed to the product."

Couric has been plagued by rumors that she would leave the anchor desk at the low-rated CBS Evening News after the November election.

"It's befuddling to me, the amount of attention I have had," she said. "Although, I think it's died down considerably."
