Perhaps fan campaigns to save doomed series do really work after all.
CBS has decided to resurrect cancelled drama Jericho, which it axed at the end of the post-apocalyptic drama's sole season last month, thanks to the efforts of some devoted viewers.
CBS had been mulling whether to bring back the slaughtered series for a seven-episode midseason run, especially after receiving a mountain of peanuts from crusading Jericho fans.
In the meantime, CBS plans to reair Jericho's first season, stream episodes and clips from the series online, and release the Season One DVD on September 25th; additionally, there may be an online component that may bridge the gap during the wait for the seven-episode Season Two.
CBS President Nina Tassler commended the series' fans for acting so vehemently to save the show but urged them to bring in new viewers, stating that the only way Jericho could continue was if it attracted a wider audience.
So, Jericho fans, start converting your friends if you want additional episodes.
