First off, a hearty congratulations to Elijah Wood for his winning performance in The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. Oscar may have snubbed him, but after more than 133,000 votes the fans made sure he wasn't overlooked again. Elijah Wood's Frodo lasted through seven grueling rounds, defeating an Academy Award Winner (Ledger) and a Hollywood icon (Clint Eastwood in Million Dollar Baby) to take the crown.

And now? It's the women's turn. 128 performances were chosen. Seven rounds, gals are placed into four brackets and seeded one through 32. Ninety Oscar nominees received automatic bids, the remaining 38 "at large" bids were determined by box office results, fan ratings, and critical accolades.

The Rules

The 18 Academy Award Winners were guaranteed top five seeds, the remaining performances were seeded by box office results, fan ratings, and critical accolades. Where actors from the same movie received bids their performances were placed in separate brackets.

Additionally, where an individual actor received more than one bid their performances were placed in separate brackets (where possible). The first example of a franchise role had to have occurred in the '00s, thus Indiana Jones and the Star Wars reboots weren't eligible. Furthermore, the first example of a franchise role was used as the performance (example: Kiera Knightley, The Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl).

Before you start voting, a little trivia, here's a list of the women who appear in all four brackets, including Cate Blanchett, who received a whopping six nominations!:

Cate Blanchett (The Aviator, I'm Not There, Notes on a Scandal, Elizabeth: The Golden Age, Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button)

Judi Dench (Notes on a Scandal, Chocolat, Iris, Mrs. Henderson Presents)

Kate Winslet (Little Children, Iris, The Reader, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind)

Meryl Streep (Doubt, Mamma Mia!, The Devil Wears Prada, Adaptation)

Naomi Watts (I Heart Huckabees, King Kong, 21 Grams, Mulholland Drive)
