Did Anything Actually Happen on Lost Last Night?

Lots of pointless teases, but did we learn anything new? Or did I miss something?

Usually we're talking about Lost like, What the hell happened last night? But today I mean that in a different way -- What the hell happened last night, meaning, Did anything at all happen last night?

I mean, did we learn anything earth-shattering? So what if Jack, in the "future," is hanging out with Kate again? We kinda expected it anyway. So what if he's good with toddler Aaron? I guess we're supposed to suspect that maybe Jack has discovered that Aaron is his nephew -- especially after his crack to Kate about her not being related to him -- which would mean he would have had to have discovered that Claire is his half-sister. But a guy can be good with a kid that he's not related to, and even if Jack does know, so what?

We must be intended to see some significance in the fact that Claire on the island in the "present" is seeing the ghost of her father, and Jack in the "future" is seeing the ghost of his father, but this seems like a pointless tease. Without photographs of their joint father to share, how would Jack and Claire ever come to the conclusion that they're seeing the ghost of the same man (even if they were to reveal the fact that they're seeing things, which doesn't seem likely)? Who wants to talk about the fact that you're going crazy?

So what are we supposed to have taken from last night's episode? Hurley thinks they're all dead, and "Charlie" has a message for Jack: "You're not supposed to raise him." Okay, whatever. Seems like a stretch of a tease to me. The island makes Jack sick when it has made everyone else well? Maybe it doesn't like Jack any more than we do ...

So what if the Aussie chick can speak Korean?

Maybe it's interesting that Kate is running errands for Sawyer, who stayed on the island. I'm curious to find out what that's all about. And how sweet is Sawyer's protection of Claire, anyway? It's odd and interesting that he can be so unexpectedly gentlemanly.

But that was the most intriguing and unexpected aspect of the episode. I kinda don't even care that it looks like Claire has gone off with "Dad" and abandoned Aaron. It felt like the whole episode was just treading water ...
