Last night on Dancing With the Stars, Kristi continued to top the Leaderboard. Jason and Mario disappointed the judges and Christian and Priscilla raised the stakes. Steve and Adam improved, but the judges were really tough on Marissa.Who would America save and who would go home?

After the recap of last night's performances, the evening started off weird. The encore performance was one that we only caught a small portion of last night. Jonathan stood in for his wife, Anna, because she fell ill during rehearsals and the judges wanted to see the entire tango with Steve and Jonathan. Alrighty then, this is going to be a strange night.

The first two couples that will dance next week were announced. Kristi & Mark were safe, as were Adam & Julianne. Then Kylie Minogue sang "All I See," a new track from her CD that was released in the U.S. today. She must have brought her own dancers for this one. Then two more couples were put out of their misery: Priscilla & Louis and Marissa & Tony.

We were treated to a piece on what the stars do when they're not dancing. Jason, with his big hands, builds model ships in bottles; Marlee is a volunteer police officer;and Shannon is the president of the MacGyver Fan Club. Okay, at this point I remember that it is April Fool's Day. Kristi is shown practicing for a hot dog eating contest; Priscilla runs a psychic hotline; Marissa surfs; Steve raps; and Christian has a pet otter. Uh, yeah.

Time for one of my favorite parts of the elimination show, the Macy's Stars of Dance Performance. Last night the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater performed parts from their signature piece "Revelations." Wow, they can dance!

Kylie Minogue sang "Can't Get You Out of My Head" while Julianne and Mark danced. Those two kids had to change this dance up a bit. It was originally supposed to be Julianne, Mark and Derek, but Derek injured his neck during a rehearsal. They did a great job; it was fun to watch them.

After another time waster -- this time a supposed professional matchmaker that proclaimed Kristi and Mark were the perfect couple -- Jason & Edyta, Marlee & Fabian, Christian & Cheryl, and Shannon & Derek were told that they were safe. This week, the last two couples waiting were Steve & Anna and Mario & Karina. Tom made sure to tell us that the last couple remaining after the elimination was not necessarily the couple with the second lowest total.

Even though he was picked for the Encore Dance, the Gute, aka Steve Guttenberg and his partner Anna were eliminated. This was not a totally unexpected turn of events. I think Marissa got some pity votes last night because of how tough the judges were on her. Her and her partner, Tony, and Adam and Julianne, I think, will have to work hard this coming week to escape elimination next week.

This was just a weird show. While they never came out and told us that their fluff pieces were for April Fool's Day, they obviously were. At least I hope they were. One real thing was Samantha inviting the viewers to upload their home dancing videos on to the website for their Fan Spotlight Dances. Did you send yours in?
