“For a kid's film, this has it all; ‘good vs evil’, a sweet love story and jokes a minute, all colourfully wrapped up in a visually stunning production.”

Fun, fun, fun and more over-the-top fun! This yummy 3D animation is hilarious, heart-warming and hugely entertaining, and will satisfy kids (and their parents) no end. Is it silly? Hell, yes! Is it good? Hell, yes! It does exactly what it says on the tin...

Inspired by Ron and Judi Barrett's beloved children's book of the same name, Flint Lockwood is a young inventor who dreams of creating something that will improve everyone's life, and when his latest and craziest invention of turning water into food succeeds, getting it to work fully means plugging it into the local power supply - which accidently sends the machine into the sky; thus making it rain meatballs. Flint becomes the local hero and puts the forgotten island on the map by making it an instant tourist hit. However, that is short-lived when the machine goes out of control and starts raining gigantic sized portions of food on the residents of Swallow falls. With everyone now against him, it becomes a race against time for him to fix it before they all get killed by giant cheeseburgers...

Familiar voices come from Bill Hader as Flint and Anna Faris plays love interest and local weather girl Sam Sparks. But the favourite has to be the return of Mr T baby! Oh yes, Mr T plays the local cop and provides some of the funniest lines by a mile! So, here you have a film with people swimming in jelly, getting chased by a twister storm of spaghetti, and Mr T as a short-short wearing, ass-kicking cop... Seriously, how much fun does that sound? Having this in 3D was a genius touch, too. The overall effect is awesome and makes every single scene come alive. For a kid's film, this has it all; ‘good vs evil', a sweet love story and jokes a minute, all colourfully wrapped up in a visually stunning production.

Ultimately, this is a story about learning to love yourself and with giant burgers, pizzas and stakes flying out of the screen at you, how is it possible not to enjoy it? Ok, so it is probably wise not to watch this on an empty stomach, but if that is the only fault then, hey, get involved! This is a kid's movie that adults can indulge in, so go on tuck in!
