Shannen Doherty is returning to 90210. The show's executive producers confirmed the rumors this morning at The CW's Summer Press Tour, breaking the news not only to critics but also to the cast.
"Wait, I have questions!" piped in AnnaLynne Cord whose 90210 character is bad girl Naomi Clark.
Doherty, who played Brenda Walsh for four seasons of Fox's hit Beverly Hills, 90210 before being fired for bad behavior, will reprise her role at West Beverly High. Brenda, last seen headed to London to study acting, became a sucessful theater actress and director. She returns to her alma mater to direct a school musical in one of the episodes.
90210 alums Jennie Garth and
Tori Spelling
have also been confirmed to appear in multiple episodes. Joe E. Tata will return as Nat, proprietor of The Peach Pit, but producers say it won't be quite the same old Pit: "It's not like they're hanging out and, hey, there's Color Me Badd!"
As for the possibility of other original cast members returning to the show: "We'd be open to it, but we haven't spoken to them yet."
