Box Office Prediction: The Brave One has Enough Jodie for Victory

Only one film will crack double digits this weekend...
Jodie Foster in Warner Bros. Pictures' "The Brave One"

5. Halloween
Prediction: $5.0m
You let me down last week Halloween. But I can't stay mad at you! Unless Superbad takes this slot this weekend... then I'll hold a grudge for life. You've been warned. I wish a production budget had been released here, it's hard to tell if the $50m in total revenue is a success.

4. Dragonwars
Prediction: $5.6m
Besides the fact that they can't settle on a title, haven't screened it, and seem woefully behind on advertising this project has gone great. In truth (or forsooth) this won't crack the top five but I wanted to mention it because I'm an unabashed dragon lover.

3. 3:10 to Yuma
Prediction: $7.0m
I wonder if they focus group test movie titles. Because this seems like a miss. A better title would have been "Bale and Crowe in the same movie."

2. Mr. Woodcock
Prediction: $7.1m
I don't know why Billy Bob chose this role. You don't know why Billy Bob chose this role. Only one person knows. Billy Bob. And he ain't saying.

1. The Brave One
Prediction: $17.4m
It's not a very good movie, so Eric (official film.com reviewer) and I are at odds again. I won last week (because Shoot 'Em Up was crushed at the box office) but he'll win this week, because nothing else is out. That should be The Brave One's slogan actually: "Hey, nothing else is out.."

Check back with MaryAnn on Monday. She'll have the correct numbers, promise.
