Big Brother Power Rankings: Friday 3/7

The twist shook up the Big Brother house. How did it affect the rankings?

Thanks to the twist, the Big Brother 9 Power Rankings have been seriously scrambled. It’s so amusing to see how the pendulum swings. Ryan was on the bottom of the Power Ranking chart last week, was even voted out of the house, but now he is Head of Household. Too bad he doesn’t have a clue how the game is played.

The Little Boys' Club, or the Bros as they’ve named themselves, has taken over the house. They are seemingly invincible… but you know how that goes. Big Brother will come up with a way to humble them again. I give Ryan props for winning that competition, but Matt and Adam are walking around the house like they did. Matt’s arrogance has annoyed me before, but I think that I’ll be ready to reach through my computer before this week is over.

The girls are at the bottom of the rankings this week. They are totally at the boys' mercy. It seems that Natalie is safe because Matt has convinced Ryan that she’s his puppet and will be a vote for them whenever they need it. I would so love to see her stand up to him just once, and quit following him around like a puppy.

Ryan wants Sharon out for some reason. He originally was going to nominate her and Sheila, as the pawn, but he was convinced that Sheila could possibly go home. Matt tried to get him to put Joshuah up against Sharon, but Ryan wanted to nominate two females. In fact he promised Joshuah that he wouldn’t nominate him at all, not even as a replacement.

Along came James, who is desperately trying to convince everyone that he and Chelsia aren’t that close and aren’t a threat. He and Chelsia have become very close, but they agreed that it could be to their disadvantage. He told her how much he cared about her and wishes he could offer her anything. Well, he didn’t offer her anything, but he offered her up to Ryan. Yes, he convinced Ryan that if he nominated Chelsia against Sharon, then he was sure that Sharon would go home.

Maybe James is counting on her winning the veto, but he put her in a very precarious position. Haven’t these silly people realized YET that putting someone they want to keep on the block is stupid? I count three votes against her right now. There is no way that Sheila or Natalie would vote to keep her over Sharon, and Joshuah won’t vote to keep her over his ex-partner. Matt has promised to get rid of Sharon, but I wouldn’t put it past him to tip the scale and vote her off just to get at James.

What will happen if either of the nominees wins the Power of Veto competition? Right now, Ryan says that if either nominee is saved, then he will put Sheila on the block. I know, though, that Matt will work him hard to get him to put up either Joshuah or James, depending on who is left. I haven’t seen much of a backbone or any game play from Ryan, so I’m not sure what he’ll do. Natalie’s name has not even been mentioned as a nominee, so she’s sitting pretty this week.

Joshuah and James are on the fringe of the Little Boys' Club. James is a little more in with them, at least this week, but neither of them are full-fledged members. They’ve both got members gunning for them, and they both have their closest allies on the block. While I don’t think Chelsia leaving would necessarily hurt James’ game, Sharon’s departure will be devastating to Joshuah.

Matt is safe this week, and he thinks he’s the king, but his throne is placed on sand and could possibly sink soon. He’s got both James and Joshuah on his tail, and his mouth does more damage than it should. Adam is in a very good place. He hasn’t ticked off anyone and is the holder of the gold. He’s the only one left with cigarettes, and he knows how to use them. Ryan holds the Head of Household this week, and as such would usually be, hands down, #1 in the rankings. He’s so clueless, however, that I hesitate putting him there.

So my Power Rankings for the week are:
9. Sharon
8. Chelsia
7. Sheila
6. Joshuah
5. Natalie
4. James
3. Matt
2. Adam
And the Power Player of the week is:
1. Ryan

I’m really interested to see how Ryan plays this week. Will he continue to be only the mouthpiece for the Little Boys' Club, or will he grow a spine and show that he has what it takes to win it all? Another couple to watch is Matt and James. They don’t like each other and will try to hurt each other’s game at every opportunity. If Matt manages to work it to get Chelsia evicted, he’ll be one up on James.

And what about the next twist? The person coming in could also have an effect on the game. Alex will fit in just fine with the Little Boys' Club, at least on the fringe. Parker, on the other hand, will probably gravitate to the women, and maybe mobilize them. Amanda and Allison are also strong players and could cause not only drama, but a house shakeup. I don’t know much about Jacob, other than the fact that he has a big mouth, but he would seem to fit in with the boys as well.

I think this has the possibility of being another interesting week to watch the hamsters in the Big Brother house. For a group so unlikeable, they sure do fascinate me. Stay tuned and catch y’all later.
