Oh my goodness! The premiere of this season's Big Brother 9 was so much better than I'd expected it to be. It was a trillion times better than the premiere of BB8. I loved how every single one of them was involved in the twist (and some a bit more) so there was none of that Us. vs Them thing going on like last season.

"Til Death Do You Part" is this season's theme and it began with a bang. Of course, as in previous seasons, we watched as all of them received their keys. Some were at work and some were at home but almost all of them screamed with glee. It reminded me to turn my speakers down lest my evil neighbor upstairs pounded on her floor with her evil broomstick. Don't worry though, I have a bucket of water ready to run upstairs with.

Enough about my neighbor, it was time for the new hamsters to enter the house. The ladies went first and Natalie, Jen, Allison, and Sheila entered were the luckiest ones of all. They quickly found out the bedrooms were locked and told the second set of ladies as much when they entered. (Did you see that they have hamsters for pets this season? I almost wet my pants at that!) A big deal was made of the "love quotes" going on in the house. Shakespeare's "I pray you do not fall in love with me, for I am falser than vows made in wine...." and Dostoevsky's "Love in action is a harsh and dreadful thing compared with love in dreams...." were just a couple of the quotes featured. I particularly love the Dostoevsky quote myself.

It was while the ladies were getting to know each other that we found out that Sharon (23) and Jacob (23) were high school sweethearts. He cheated on her when he got out of the military, she broke up with him, and they haven't talked since. He's not over her though and you can tell that she's not over him.

Julie then told us about Jen and Ryan. They are indeed a couple (as we all knew already...LOL) and are playing the game as a secret pair. If they can get to the end of the game without being found out, they will win the half million dollar prize. If somebody discovers what's going on, then it could be them up on the chopping block soon. They tell us that they've been dating for 9 months and living together for 7. Both Ryan and Jen admit to being jealous people but she's confident they'll be married soon.

It's time for the guys to gather in front of the wonderful BB house now. Ryan, Adam, Alex, and Joshuah enter the house as the first group of men. Then the others. Hahahaha!!!! Sharon's shocked that Jacob is there and Jacob is shocked that Sharon's there. I just love these moments.

After everybody gathered on the couch, it was time for Julie to tell them all about this sordid little twist. Based on their personality testing and interviews, each of them have been matched up with their soul mate and that person is in the house. They will be playing the game, along with their soulmate, as couples -- competing as couples, winning HOH as couples, nominating and evicting as couples, evicted as couples, and even sleeping as couples. Rut roh!

Are you ready to find out who the couples are? Julie told them that after they're called out they must go claim their bed and stay in it until everybody has been paired up. The couples are: Alex and Amanda; James and Chelsia; Natalie and Matt (they chose the bed next to Alex/Amanda in Jessica/Eric's old bedroom); Jen and Parker (no Ryan for her!!!); Joshuah and Neil (the gay duo); and Jacob and Sharon (the exes are paired together!). Bad news though -- no more beds are left. The final pairs will have to sleep together in sleeping bags. Hehehe.

Ryan and Allison are paired up and then? This is the point of the show that made me absolutely embrace my bitchiness. This entire time Sheila had been worried about being about who she would be paired up with. That bitch made me want to reach through my TV and slap those wrinkles off her no-makeup-wearing face. The last person she wanted to be paired with was Adam so guess what? Adam was her partner. You know who Sheila reminds me of? She reminds me of Daniele (yes Donato) except she's more than 20 years older and even whinier. Had she never heard of Big Brother before? Or did she think she'd be queen of this castle? Blech at her!

Besides my sitting here making fun of Sheila for the remainder of the show, the other best part was our very first HOH competition of the season. I'm sorry. I mean our very first Power Couple competition of the season. Same thing though. And even better? It was a freaking endurance competition!!! Yes!!!

The name of the competition was "Falling For You". Each of the pairs would first have to decide who would be suspended in the air over a bed with rose petals and who would be being held in their arms. Then it was just a matter of who could hang on the longest. If they fell, they were eliminated. And go!

It certainly didn't take long for bitchy Sheila to drop out. She said she couldn't stand being close to Adam. What a loser. Does she not realize they have to play as a team??? Talk about being as dumb as a pile of rocks. The second team out was Joshuah and Neil and then Amanda and Alex. After Sharon and Jacob were eliminated after 34 minutes and 19 seconds, Julie told them there was a little surprise. See those heart pillows on the bed below them? That little pillow could be worth $10,000 if a pair could manage to snag it while not falling to the bed.

Matt and Natalie decide to not even try for the heart pillow. That's not stopping the rest of them though. Jen was the first to get her "heart". Allison tried, didn't get it, and then fell to the bed. Chelsia manages to get her pillow but she just couldn't hold on to James. She drops to the bed. It was then down to two couples: Jen & Parker and Matt & Natalie. Parker & Jen really wanted the $10,000 so they promised Matt & Natalie they'd be safe if they would drop. Drop they did and Parker & Jen are our new, I mean first, Power Couple. And oh yeah, they're also the winners of $10,000.

Julie ominously told them they'd only have a matter of hours to make their decision. Decision about what you might ask. I forgot to mention that didn't I? They will be deciding which couple will go home. Just them. Nobody else. It's up to them. We'll find out who they chose tomorrow night at 8:00 PM ET. One couple will indeed be going home. On Sunday's show, we'll find out how the soul mate twist affects the nominations. On Tuesday, we'll see if the POV will save one of the nominated couples. Finally on Wednesday (a week from tomorrow), we'll have our first live eviction.

So what did you think about tonight's premiere episode? I sure as hell hope that Sheila goes home. It sucks that Adam has to be paired up with such a bitch but I can't stand that woman. Older and wiser my ass! Ahem. Control yourself HamsterDame. So who do you think will be going home tomorrow? And how do you think this season is looking so far?

And yes, I know they're really guinea pigs. But I'd rather think they are hamsters. :)
