Big Brother 9: A New Trend Developing?
Adam on CBS' 'Big Brother 9' -

Posted by I.A. We seem to have a trend developing: Jen and Parker, first week Power Couple nominated by Alex and Amanda and then evicted; Alex and Amanda then nominated by Chelsia and James and then evicted. At this rate, James might be back on the bike sooner than he thought. Amanda had one of the more emotional exits from the house that I can remember seeing--actual sobbing is pretty rare, understandably when you keep in mind that there are rarely surprise evictions and the unlucky have ample time to move through the stages of grief. I was amused at how distant Alex and Amanda seemed when talking to Julie--when she referenced the heavy flirting the two engaged in way back in, um, the second week of February, I actually had to remind myself about that. But while a house without Amanda stirring things up might have seemed unthinkable a week ago, it appears we'll be just fine. Sheila had the first part of the week covered in the drama department, and now Allison seems to be taking over. That's probably more for the next post. Joshuah and Sharon are now in the catbirds' two seats, and while it's hard to fly under the radar when you're one of only 5 pairs left in the house, their performance in the Head of Household competition may have scared the others just a bit (is it possible only these two sensed their might be a competition based on the quotes? What could have been more obvious?). I tend to think Joshuah is playing too hard and it's going to come back to bite him--Sharon, who stirs things up with whispers and then allows herself to back off, is much more my style player. He seems like the type who might really let HoH go to his head. But for now, he can boogie to his hearts content. Now, there's going to be speculation about the meaning of what Julie said at the end of the live show, apparently referring to the twist we've all speculated on even though she said no one would see it coming. As I said last week, the next eviction would be the ideal time to reintroduce someone to the house, since an eviction would take us down to 8 and someone coming back in would take it to 9--7 jurors and 2 finalists, like always. But Julie's phrasing made me wonder if something else was going on, since she definitely said the couple would get a surprise. Also, and someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but when players were brought back before in seasons 3 and 6, weren't we told well ahead of time that would happen? I'm pretty sure there's going to be some kind of comeback for one or more houseguests because the sequester wouldn't make sense otherwise, but it might not be as simple as it's been before. Anyway, I'm pleased Natalie is still around. There's one new weird thing we learn about her every day, and I don't want to miss any of it. Got a question? Ask Big Brother Here.
