After reading some of the comments on this Big Brother 10 post, it made me wonder whether fans are being too harsh towards Jerry?
There is no question that the house guests haven't been nice to Jerry, and neither have the fans (although the Judas comment was totally out of line.) One of the commenters here pointed out that "old man" comments are flying left and right nobody cares about it. If we said dirty black man or dirty Jew, we would be outraged, but is dirty old man cool? Where do we draw the line? I am not sure if dirty "old man" offends men.
Jerry does have a hard time fitting in. There is no one from his "era" (well there's Renny, well... Renny is Renny!) But being alone in the house doesn't justify his actions ... or does it?
In season 9 of Big Brother, one of the houseguest attacked Sheila for using the single mom card. But here Jerry uses his age card as an excuse every single time so that the remaning houseguests pity on him. I am not saying that I like or dislike Jerry, but should he be given a break because of his age? (Jerry very well know what he was getting into when he signed up for this.)
