Aronofsky to Direct New Robocop!

A press release from MGM came out yesterday that indicated Darren Aronofsky will be directing a 2010 version of Robocop.

That deserves a "wow."

Aronofsky is the fellow behind 2006's most interesting film - The Fountain. My friends and I argued about what that one meant for weeks. We *did* finally figure it out but at this point it's classified. However, with Pi and Requiem for a Dream on Darren's credits you'd have to call him an arthouse fellow, wouldn't you?

The original Robocop, back in 1987, was one of the most brutal and violent films I'd ever seen. Now I'm sure it would seem tame. But I've got to think that Aronofsky is going to take it to a way more sci-fi place, away from the grit the original. Just a guess.

In other news, I finally learned how to spell Aronofsky without double-checking today. Just sound it out. Aron. Of. Sky. No problem.

With that under my belt I can gather up a few bottles of water and head off to another day at the Comic-Con. This time I won't be leaving for lunch, as I learned the cruel lesson of leaving Hall H for anything leads to heartbreak (and another hour in line). So today I stay, come what may.

I really hope I find a 7-11 on the way. I gotta have sustenance to keep cranking out this award-winning stuff.

Live from San Diego,
Laremy
