Battle for Terra Battle for Terra
Action-adventure animation has produced some mixed results, but here we go again. The voice talent is packed with the likes of Evan Rachel Wood, Luke Wilson, Brian Cox, Justin Long, Chris Evans, David Cross, and Dennis Quaid (and more). Earth is destroyed and now humanity is running out of resources. So we decide to invade an innocent planet that appears to be populated with a bunch of creatures that all look like Mena Suvari (at least to me).

Adoration
Atom Egoyan fans, put yo hands in da air! Wave 'em like ya jus' don' cayah! No, really, I like Egoyan's films but I don't think I've ever watched one in the movie theater. I don't see a change in this trend unless I hear this -- which looks solid -- is something special.

Up
Pixar always has me at hello. The question is, will their Oscar-nominated short let me down again in the Oscar pool next year? You can answer yes, but I will be unable to heed your warning.

Terminator Salvation
I wasn't all about this project when it was initially announced. Then Bale's participation made my ears perk up a bit. The on-set rant nearly blew out my ear drums. That last trailer, however, grabbed me completely. Now that's how you cut a trailer, folks.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine
I'm cautiously optimistic about this one. I thought focusing on one character would be a nice change of pace for the X-Men franchise, but they are selling this like X-Men 4 or something. I still say they should have done a full-fledged, pre-adamantium origin story based on Joe Quesada and Bill Jemas' Wolverine: Origin. Looks like pieces of that story made it into this movie but still.

Management
Steve Zahn runs a hotel while trying to woo Jennifer Aniston away from Woody Harrelson. Really? Woody Harrelson? Carrot Top wasn't available? Come on, try and give Zahn a little competition at least.

Star Trek
As badly as I want to see Up and Terminator Salvation, this is probably my most anticipated May entry. I'm a Star Trek fan, but I wouldn't call myself a Trekkie. Or a Trekker. I'm just convinced J.J. Abrams won't let me down.

Dance Flick
Resistance is futile. Resistance is futile. Resistance is futile.

Drag Me to Hell
No, this is not a movie about anyone associated with spoof movies. It's Sam Raimi returning to his horror roots; color me psyched. Here's the plan: An Evil Dead trilogy marathon and then off to the theater for a midnight showing. Who's with me?

The Brothers Bloom
Director Rian Johnson follows up his celebrated cult film, Brick, with a story about two con artists (Mark Ruffalo and Adrien Brody) and their next mark (the luminous Rachel Weisz). This movie looks barrel-of-monkeys fun.

Angels & Demons Poster Angels & Demons
I'm not one of those people who thought The Da Vinci Code was one of the worst movies in the world. I think some people were Da Vinci Codeed out mostly. I didn't read Angels and Demons but I will probably check this one out given the chance.

Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian
I'm going to be up front with you. I like Ben Stiller comedies, but the chances of me seeing this movie are pretty darn slim. Like Kate Moss slim. I saw the first one. That was enough for me. It will be huge, though.

The Girlfriend Experience
I think this is going to be another one of those Steven Soderbergh snooze-fests (Bubble, anyone?), but who knows? Maybe I will be surprised. This guy is like rolling a twenty-sided dice at this point.

The Limits of Control
I can't forget to give a shot-out to the Jim Jarmusch fans out there. All fourteen of you people, this one's for you!

Ghosts of Girlfriends Past
How does Matthew McConaughey still have a career at this point? Movies like this, that's how. The ladies eat this crap up, though. It's the same movie with this guy. Doesn't matter. McConaughey is like the white Madea. McConaughey Does J-Lo. McConaughey Does Kate Hudson. McConaughey Does Sarah Jessica Parker. McConaughey Does Kate Hudson 2. This time, McConaughey does Jennifer Garner, Ebenezer Scrooge-style. It's going to be an outstanding movie! Just you watch!
