The MTV Movie Awards is one of Hollywood's more fun events, which means the fashion is loose, funky, shows lots of skin, and is often boldly disastrous -- where else would you see a man in leopard print underwear for the sake of movie promotion?

We've rummaged through all the red carpet looks, so you don't have to, and come up with the night's best, worst, and the looks that left us baffled.

The Tops
Sienna Miller was a knockout in her sea green sequined dress. It was sexy and fun, but still stylish, making Sienna our favorite of the night. Miley Cyrus was subtle and chic, if not a little boring, in her nude dress, but we'll take it on a night full of red carpet atrocities. Equal parts adorable and sexy, Hayden Panettiere worked a basic little black dress. In his coat and tie paired with jeans and boots, Zac Efron was business on the top and hipster on the bottom, and it worked. Ashley Tisdale was funky, but fashionable in a purple leather mini-dress, and reminded us how great she looks as a brunette.

The Flops
mtv movie awardsSacha Baron Cohen walked the carpet in character as Bruno, but that doesn't make his total leopard print ensemble and bleached eyebrows any less terrifying. We expected Megan Fox to rock an ultra-short number, but we just didn't care for her black and silver dress or her brutally slicked back hair. Lauren Conrad's dress wasn't anything special and her too-dark makeup and ratty extensions did not help matters. Taraji P. Henson wore a little black dress that looked like a French maid costume from the back and had some sort of Greco-Roman scene printed on the front. It's all very confusing. Rumer Willis' green geometric print dress was an attempt at edginess doomed from the start. We had high hopes for Sandra Bullock's usually breezy style, but her look was unflattering, uninspired and un-summery -- black tights in May? Paris Hilton's peach babydoll dress and her arched back poses made the stick-thin heiress look pregnant, so we're gonna go ahead and start that rumor.

Almost, but Not Quite
We loved the orange sherbet shade of Vanessa Hudgens' dress, but did not care for its silky nightgown fabric or those bulky black shoes. What has happened to our precious Leighton Meester? Her hair and makeup were flawless, and we sort of liked her skintight, peekaboo dress, but then we saw the back. Let's just say it was a bit too peekaboo for our taste. Blair would never! Kristen Stewart, why do you insist on being edgy all the time? We actually liked your dress and makeup. Sometimes it's OK to leave the Chuck Taylors at home ... and wash your hair.
