Big Brother 9: Slop and Nominations

I would say it was a lazy day for the hamsters in the house today but then I would be lying to you. They were woken up at 8:30 this morning for their very first food competition and, as in typical Big Brother fashion, waited forever to actually compete in it. Unfortunately for us, Big Brother still hasn't changed their mind about letting us watch the competition on the feeds. I really wish they would let us watch just one. Even bits of one would make me happy. They were always so much fun to watch.

Regardless, after about two hours the feeds came back on and we eventually learned that Adam/Sheila, Alex/Amanda, and Matt/Natalie were the couples on slop this week. Alex was the crankiest about his situation and I can't say that I blame him. He could have it much worse though and not be allowed to add anything to his slop to make it taste better. That's always been frustrating for me that they've been allowed to add "stuff" to their slop. Call me a sadist but I would rather them be made to eat the slop prepared "as is". Hell, let them go back to eating just PB&J and I'd be even happier.

Nominations were also held today. If you had been watching the feeds last night and this morning, the couples nominated for eviction didn't come as any huge surprise. Matt/Natalie and Alex/Amanda are the ones up on the block. Alex has been doing fine with it and realizes it's part of the game. Matt's been doing better about the situation since Natalie told him earlier this afternoon that they're just pawns and James/Chelsia along with many in the rest of the house want Alex/Amanda voted out. She told him to not act negative about things and pull a "Parker" because his attitude is what got him evicted.

I don't like Amanda very much and I happen to like Alex. Natalie gets on my nerves (I can't stand her voice) and I don't like Matt much better. I actually hope that Alex/Amanda stick around for another week. I appreciate that Alex realizes this is all just a game and isn't taking anything so personally. Of course, we know things can change really quickly in the house depending on the outcome of the Power of Veto competition. So neither of these couples are gone by any stretch of the imagination.

In other news, Ryan and Adam were told about the lesbian lie last night. It wasn't Allison or Sheila that told them about it though, it was James. They didn't seem too upset about it. They definitely weren't as upset as Josh was when Sheila and Allison told him it was a lie.

Watching them eat out of bowls has been funny as has listening to them bitch about not having cold water or a washing machine. Chelsia and James, especially James, getting wasted last night and passing out wound up frustrating the others because they were told this morning that they won't get any more alcohol for a few days. Speaking of Chelsia and James, they had some mini drunken make-out sessions last night in the HOH room. Is it just me or do they make a cute couple?
