Director, writer, producer, educator, activist, Kalin is a leading light of the "new wave" in gay filmmaking. He started out by writing and directing a variety of short films and videos for the museum circuit, including "Puppets", "Gesicht", "finally destroy us", "News From Home" and "They Are Lost to Vision Altogether". The latter two have been exhibited at numerous international festival venues.
