Born in St. Louis, MO, writer Timothy J. Sexton began his writing career at Colorado College where he majored in English. After graduation, he took some time off to travel, before landing work as a copywriter, journalist and translator. He spent four years living and working Mexico, before moving to Los Angeles, CA to become a screenwriter. His first produced film – “For Love or Country: The Arturo Sandoval Story” (HBO, 2000) – a biopic about the famed Cuban trumpeter who battled the government over suppression of his music, earned Sexton the 2002 Paul Selvin Award from the Writers Guild of
