Striking Asian player of stage, TV and film who first made an impact as Dennis Quaid's wife in "Come See the Paradise" (1990), Alan Parker's WWII-era drama about Japanese relocation camps in the US. Tomita began on stage, appearing in West Coast productions of "Don Juan: A Meditation" and "The Winter Crane". (The latter won her a DRAMA-LOGUE Award.)
