Methodical in his approach to a story, Steve Kroft is the youngest of the reporters on "60 Minutes", the venerable magazine format news show he joined in 1989. Kroft began his career in TV reportage with WSYR-TV in Syracuse, NY in 1972 and later worked at CBS affiliate WJXT-TV from 1975-77 in Jacksonville, Florida. He has covered myriad events and issues in his tenure at CBS, from the war in El Salvador to the assassination of Indira Gandhi.
