A self-styled eccentric brother act, Stephen and Timothy Quay--better known as The Brothers Quay--have cultivated a devoted following with a series of elaborately detailed puppet animation shorts seen primarily in film festivals, British TV commercials and music videos. Defiantly low-tech and skeptical of modernity, they have ruled a small corner of the peculiarly obsessive world of three-dimensional solids animation.
