Armed with a keen visual awareness and compelling ability to tell a story, Stephen Frears became established as a leading director in British cinema and TV in the 1980s. While studying law at Cambridge, Frears' interest in the stage was peaked and soon after obtaining his degree, he joined London's Royal Court Theater.
