Former documentary filmmaker ("Mustang: The House That Joe Built" 1975) turned executive who worked first for CBS Production and later for New World Pictures. At New World, Guralnick developed such projects as "18 Again!" (1988), "The Punisher" (1989), "Steel Magnolias" (1989) and "Revenge" (1990). He later joined the production team at Warner Brothers, cultivating relations with Kevin Costner and Jim Wilson's Tig Productions that resulted in "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves" (1991) and "The Bodyguard" (1992).
