When Nick Park joined Aardman Animations in 1985, it was the realization of an avocation that began when he was a child, and as his career reached lofty heights he never lost the child-like sensibility that made his work so accessible, and made the unforgettable stars of many of his films, the eccentric cheese-loving inventor Wallace and his faithful yet put-upon dog Gromit, into pop culture icons.

Born in 1958 in Preston, Lancashire, this filmmaker began his career creating animated featurettes while in his early teens. One of his early efforts, "Archie's Concrete Nightmare", aired on the BBC Continued
