When Nick Park joined Aardman Animations in 1985, it was the realization of an avocation that began when he was a child, and as his career reached lofty heights he never lost the child-like sensibility that made his work so accessible, and made the unforgettable stars of many of his films, the eccentric cheese-loving inventor Wallace and his faithful yet put-upon dog Gromit, into pop culture icons.Born in 1958 in Preston, Lancashire, this filmmaker began his career creating animated featurettes while in his early teens.
