Comparatively prolific (he's made some 20 films since the mid-60s) Spanish director who began his career collaborating on several scripts for Carlos Saura. Camus gained much international attention with "The Holy Innocents" (1984), which earned best actor honors at Cannes for Alfredo Landa and Francisco Rabal, and several years later returned with a notable adaptation of Garcia Lorca's "The House of Bernarda Alba" (1987).
