The youngest child of actors Michael Redgrave and Rachel Kempson, Lynn Redgrave burst on to the scene in an Oscar-nominated turn as the frumpy title character who shares a London apartment with a glamorous, attractive roommate (Charlotte Rampling) in "Georgy Girl" (1966). Prior to that, she had followed her famous father's footsteps onto the English stage, debuting in a 1962 production of "A Midsummer's Night Dream" and joining Laurence Olivier's company the following year at the National Theatre. Redgrave landed her first feature role in then brother-in-law Tony Richardson's Academy
