biography
This affable, eccentric leading man achieved his greatest successes in two diverse TV roles: as the somewhat bumbling astronaut in "I Dream of Jeannie" in the 1960s and as the ruthless and devilish J.R. Ewing on "Dallas" in the late 70s. Hagman began his career on the stage following in the footsteps of his mother, Mary Martin, with whom he appeared as a member of the chorus in the London production of "South Pacific".
