An attractive, blonde stage-trained player, Greist first came to prominence when she was chosen by director Terry Gilliam to play the enigmatic heroine of "Brazil" (1985). She went on to give a fine performance as the wife of a detective stalking a serial killer in Michael Mann's "Manhunter" (1986) and was featured in "Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey" (1993) and its sequel "Homeward Bound II: Lost in San Francisco" (1996). Greist is perhaps best remembered for her TV roles as a public relations executive mixed up in intrigue in "Wiseguy" (CBS, 1989) and as the mentally ill wife of Mandy
