Kanye West's Most Controversial Moments
A long string of outbursts, not music, may be the singer's legacy.

In his hit song, "Jesus Walks," Kanye West says: "God, show me the way because the Devil's tryin' to break me down." Clearly, Jesus had other plans Sunday night. He surely wasn't guiding Kanye as the rapper stripped Taylor Swift of her moment in the spotlight at the MTV VMAs when she won for Best Female Video. However, anyone who follows Kanye, 32, probably wasn't that surprised when he dissed the 19-year-old singer during her acceptance speech. Picking on a teenager does seem like a new low for him, though. To be fair, Kanye has apologized. But honestly, the guy has to be missing the editor in his head to pull a stunt like that in the first place. For Kanye, a huge ego has equaled a long history of public jackassery. And most of the incidents stem from the idea that he can do or say whatever he wants, no matter what the circumstance. Here's a round-up of his more horrifying public meltdowns: "I was definitely robbed. I was the best new artist this year." "A lot of people were wondering what I was going to do if I didn't win ... I guess we'll never know." "George Bush doesn't care about black people." "If I don't win album of the year, I'm going to have a real problem." "If I don't win, the award show loses credibility." "Give a black man a chance! That's two years in a row!"
