Texas native John Lee Hancock left the practice of law after four years to pursue a different career path, his work in film evolving from his participation in theater. A former member of the Fountainhead Theater Company in Los Angeles, he founded, along with Brandon Lee, Bill Allen and George Davis, the Legal Aliens Theater (also in L.A.), and wrote and directed the plays "Fullfed Beast", "Riff For Emily" and "Ten to Midnight".
