The late distinguished actress Gloria Foster studied at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago, making her earliest professional appearances with the University of Chicago County Theater. In 1963 Foster was awarded the prestigious Obie Award for her powerful performance in "In White America" . The following year, she was honored with a Theatre World Award. She was last seen on Broadway in the award-winning "Having Our Say" (1995). Foster’s feature film debut was in 1963’s Cool World, and her feature credits include "The Comedians" (1967), "Man and Boy" (1972), "City of Hope" (1991), "The Matrix"
