Stage actor and director who apprenticed under Vittorio De Sica and Jean Renoir before making his feature debut with the Bergmanesque, Oscar-nominated "Village on the River" (1958). Rademakers went on to establish himself as the preeminent Dutch director of the next two decades, turning out a string of finely executed, psychologically complex dramas such as "The Knife" (1960) and "Mira" (1971).
