biography
Despite a number of television and movie appearances, Efren Ramirez captured the public eye with his understated supporting performance in the 2004 cult favorite, “Napoleon Dynamite.” His face and his character took the zeitgeist by storm, as the phrase, “Vote for Pedro” graced T-shirts across the country. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Ramirez was encouraged by his mother to study acting, and soon enough he started training at the Theater of Arts and performing in local venues. He first appeared on the big screen at age 13, with a small role in the 1995’s Pauly Shore vehicle, “Jury Duty.”
