This British born executive began his career in 1962 when he joined Associated British Cinemas (the forerunner of EMI) as an assistant manager in exhibition. Two years later, Gibson began a ten- year association with the commercial distribution firm of Pearl & Dean. He also worked in various capacities (assistant director, production manager, etc.) on feature films produced in Asia, Africa and throughout Europe.
